Is it just me or are there barely any HF searches recently? Some new SM launches, barely even any pod seats, that's about it.

Based on the most helpful WSO content, it seems that the hedge fund (HF) hiring landscape has been relatively slow recently. There are mentions of limited opportunities, with only a few new single-manager (SM) launches and minimal pod shop seats being available. This aligns with broader discussions on the platform about the challenges in the HF space, such as oversaturation of certain strategies, limited attractive opportunities, and the evolving dynamics of capital allocation.

As someone actively recruiting, I’ve gotten only a handful of SM inbounds from HHs that were worth following up on/were legit, established funds. I’ve had more luck sending in online apps or responding to job postings (even for SMs) than HHs this year.
Market was pretty active early this year. Maybe it has slowed down since then with market vol?
felt the same. there were a lot of inbounds at the beginning of the year, met a few but felt the process has slowed more recently... not sure if it's because of earnings seasons or market volatility...
anyone has any colors or updates?
