HHs for HFs

Hi All -

I am a 2nd year analyst in IB and am currently in the process for recruiting for buyside roles. PE really hasn't excited me and I've even turned down a few offers. I went through the process for a HF and while it didn't work out, I realized this is exactly the type of learning / intellectual environment I'd like to be in. That being said I've also learned the recruiting environment is far less structured than the PE recruiting process, and none of the headhunters that I am in contact with recruit for HFs.

Does anyone have insight into the headhunters that recruit for HFs or perhaps best strategy for recruiting for a L/S analyst role? Does it really just boil down to cold approaching on linkedin?

Any insight would be huge.

Best, Vidur
