This article ^ tells of a Baupost partner who retired after 17 years at the company after joining at 25 years old. He is now focusing on philanthropy. How much does a partner at Baupost make? I get that its variable but how many figures on average?
In this particular case, it's not so much how much a partner there makes. The vast driver of this person's wealth creation came from being at a fund that went from sub-$1 billion when he joined to $30 billion when he retired.
Plus, given their long-term returns, investing in their partners fund would have created a lot of value. And for employees, it's generally fee free!
