How much of a comp difference will you see for a top hedge fund analyst at a $500mm fund vs. a $5,000mm fund? According to the SumZero compensation report the difference is apparently fairly small for the median hedge fund analyst (~$30K). Is this really true? If you are at the 90th or 95th percentile of analyst compensation for a given age bracket (e.g., you are making $400K), is the story any different? Just curious rational it is to focus on larger funds?
