Hycalibre - cases or model tests?

I'm thinking about buying some content from hycalibre for further practice. They have both cases and model tests. Which ones are most relevant/similar to the ones firms like P72, citadel, millennium etc use? The cases aren't recent so the financials and solution write ups seem to be outdated. anyone have any advice? thanks!

Based on the most helpful WSO content, firms like Citadel (Surveyor), P72, and Millennium are known for their rigorous modeling tests and case studies. These typically focus on financial statement modeling, DCF, M&A, LBO, Comps, and Excel modeling. If you're considering Hycalibre, here are some points to keep in mind:

  1. Relevance of Content: Ensure that the cases and model tests you purchase align with the specific skills tested by these firms. Outdated financials or solutions might not reflect the current market dynamics or modeling standards, which could be a disadvantage.

  2. Focus on Modeling Tests: Given the emphasis on technical proficiency at these firms, prioritizing model tests over general cases might be more beneficial. These tests are likely to simulate the real-world scenarios and technical challenges you'll face during their assessments.

  3. Supplementary Resources: If you're concerned about outdated content, consider complementing Hycalibre's materials with other resources. WSO offers 9 free financial modeling lessons and 27 financial modeling templates, which are taught by experienced private equity professionals and bulge bracket investment bankers. These could provide a more up-to-date and comprehensive practice experience.

Ultimately, while Hycalibre might be a good starting point, ensure that the materials are current and tailored to the specific requirements of the firms you're targeting.
