i want hf in future, going to do IB for upcoming sophomore summer. should I do trading for junior year summer or IB again? Thx

What type of hf do you want to work at?
Macro/activist investing
Too far apart, pick one and decide. They require entirely different skillsets, one needs you to s&t and the other requires IBD/PE.
If you like macro then 100% macro s&t will get you there.
Trading has better hours and if you are good you can make it rain. If you are a quant or nice with numbers Trade but if more social then sales is a great career.
IB is super interesting but significantly longer hours. However they do get close to the client and travel more to see them etc. Here you are helping a company reach its fjnancing goals etc vs trading is make money for clients (pension funds etc).
You could break into HF with bond depending on coverage etc. though as you know ib easier for pe
