Inputting raw sec filings - any tips?
Have a model round coming up at an SM and part of test is to build model from scratch by using SEC filings. That is what I do for my current job anyways but I’m a relatively slow typer so struggle to input historicals quickly. Any tips to make it faster instead of going Q by Q? Any tricks and tips that people have that saves them time? Using the excel filing instead of pdf (I’ve never figured out how to do that because of the weird formatting)? Note that I absolutely cannot use bberg/any other source as part of this.
Do you know you can copy the tables right by opening them in acrobat, holding alt and highlighting the bit you need?
Also learn to use numpad, no reason typing numbers should be slow.
The alt copy from a pdf doesn’t seem to work. Does it only work with acrobat or certain companies? It works from the html form but I have to clear out the formatting.
Only in acrobat.
