Investment process

Working in a L/S equity HF with 4 YOE (all buyside).

Had a couple of first interviews with partners of other HFs and among the feedbacks I get for not making it to the next step is that my investment process could be more solid (in addition to the fact they're looking for someone more experienced, etc.). A factor could be that I usually don't go as deep as others might go as idea velocity is high and breadth of my coverage wide (across regions and sectors).

I do understand that the investment process is very personal and depends on the strategy you work on, but what would you work on to improve it? Have you ever received/given this feedback and what you did to improve/meant by that?
