Joining L/S SM Fund - Advice?

Wrapping up my 2 years in IB later this month and will be joining a ~$4B L/S SM HF in Aug as a junior analyst covering consumer / healthcare under a well-respected PM (MM background).

Is there anything I should be doing / preparing for right now? Any books or primers or modeling I should be looking into? Cognizant of the fact that I know very little about the public market - but want to avoid falling flat on my face when I start. Any / all advice would be great - especially from those in the HF world!
