Logical questions/brain teasers prep for interview

I have an interview coming up at a fund and was told to prep for some logical/brain teaser type questions along. Anybody have any resource/thoughts on how to best prep for the logical/teaser type questions?

Ah, the classic brain teaser prep! Here's how you can swing through those tricky questions like a pro:

  1. Understand the Purpose: Remember, it's not just about getting the right answer. Interviewers want to see how you think on your feet, how you approach a problem, and if you can stay cool under pressure.

  2. Resources to Check Out:

    • Heard on the Street: This book is pretty much the go-to manual for brainteaser and math-related questions. It's been mentioned as an excellent resource in the WSO content.
    • Vault Guide to Finance Interviews: A quick search will get you this guide which provides a basic understanding of the types of questions you might face.
    • Arthur Benjamin's Math Book: For mental math, this is a solid resource to drill and improve your number-crunching skills.
  3. Practice Makes Perfect: Dive into some brainteasers and logical puzzles. The more you practice, the better you'll get at recognizing patterns and frameworks for solving these types of questions.

  4. Stay Positive: Having a fun and positive attitude can go a long way. It's not just about the answer, but also about how you handle the question.

  5. Company Database and Glassdoor: Look through the WSO company database and Glassdoor for potential questions that have been asked in the past. They change every recruiting season, but it's good to get a sense of what might come up.

  6. Mental Math: Don't forget to brush up on your mental arithmetic. Being able to do calculations like 23x23 quickly and accurately in your head can impress.

Remember, it's all about showcasing your problem-solving prowess and your ability to remain unfazed by the unexpected. Good luck with your interview, and may the odds be ever in your favor!
