As per the title, I am looking to find repuable headhunters in London that specialize in long-only and/or single manager long/short funds. I have had plenty of engagement with headhunters pitching multi-manager seats, so I would like to avoid more of those conversations.

Have tended to find that most MM HF headhunters also do the LO and SM HF mandates.
I guess there aren’t any/many LO or SM roles out there at the minute then, lol.
It’s been a real struggle to get any traction outside of MM the last few months.
Do you guys see MM recruiting in this environment?

I would try to directly approach these firms. Can you find business development people on LinkedIn? Or maybe someone from your network who can help you get a foot in the door? Always better to directly talk to the firms instead of having a middleman who just forwards emails and wastes your time trying to sell you on roles
BD do the same. Put you through a mock portfolio in a market like this to tell you they want to keep in touch for the next two years.

I started cold emailing/LinkedIn messaging recently, but the response rate is near zero hah.
Unfortunately, my network is not that robust in London.
Forget about recruiting in HF for next couple of weeks/months would be my advice
