Does anyone actually know of multiple people who have spent >4 years at the same MM? Just seems like it's always a matter of when, not if, people get fired.

The median tenure at TGM/Viking/Coatue/D1 is 3 years vs 2 years at C/M/P/B - does that feel drastically different to you?

second this. It's a sink or swim industry. All seats are risky, both SM and MM.
i've been in this business for 20 yrs and have worked at 2 firms...i've had analysts spend 10+ yrs at the same shop...not saying this is norm...but >4 yrs - yes I have seen tons of people last longer than that...
As a % of the all employees (investing roles), definitely not a high figure.
but yes absolute # still a lot each firm.
Know someone personally who spent 9 years at C, but the whole office (non-NYC) had turned over at least 2x by the time he left
