L/S Equity Associate Interviews

I’m going into my second year in investment banking and was recently approached about some long/short hedge fund roles. I’ve always been interested in public markets but, like most IB analysts, I assumed private equity was the natural next step. Over the past couple of months, I’ve done a lot of research and self-reflection, and I’ve realized I’m much more drawn to the pace and feedback loop of public investing — where performance is driven by judgment, not process, and results are visible in real time. Now that I’ve made that decision and roles are coming in, I want to make sure I’m focused on the right prep areas the next month before starting interviews.

1. Standard 3 statement model
2. Stock Pitches with Long/Short options
3. Market and Macro awareness
4. Case Study prep - how do I best prepare/what does this entail aside from the model?

Is there anything else? Can someone be stupidly specific for me?
