Math skills required for HF
What math skills are required to be successful at a HF? The highest math I’ve taken is stats or pre calc. I haven’t even taken calculus so what math is required for HF? Any help is appreciated.

Depends on the HF strategy and the role.
Maybe add some more context and others can jump in, as I’m not too familiar with hedge fund roles?
Not totally familiar either just trying to gauge if i have an interest/skillset to look at HFs. But i guess i would say like activist, L/S the more traditional stuff. Obviously quant needs crazy math but was wondering about the other types.
You should be fine for L/S, stats is a good tool to have. Heck, I don't even use the calculus I learned in high school.
Abstract Algebra, PhD Analysis, Stochastic Differentiation

I use addition, subtraction, and multiplication mostly.
Agree with posters above, but would add u may need to know division at times.
Depends on how big and how specialized the fund is.I had a professor at uni that runs a small hf and he literally said "your job is to make money, i dont care if you have ideas after looking at your own shit"
To me, a robust knowledge of statistics is most useful.
