Millenium Execution Trader

Just got a LinkedIn notification that my former roommate started a job as an execution trader at Millenium. My jaw dropped cause this dude is practically illiterate. Guy would bring around his friends and have debates about whether or not the earth was flat.

Does anyone know what the job entails? And total comp? Might need to make the jump if this dude could do it

Execution trading roles, like the one at Millennium, primarily involve executing trades on behalf of portfolio managers or clients. The job requires precision, speed, and a deep understanding of market mechanics, but it doesn't necessarily demand the same level of analytical or strategic thinking as a risk-taking trader role. Execution traders focus on minimizing transaction costs, ensuring best execution, and managing the operational aspects of trading.

As for compensation, execution traders at top-tier firms like Millennium can earn competitive pay. While exact figures can vary based on experience and location, total compensation (base salary + bonus) for execution traders at hedge funds often ranges from $150k to $300k+, depending on performance and seniority.

If your former roommate landed this role, it might be worth exploring your own network and skill set to see if you could transition into a similar position. However, keep in mind that while the role might not require advanced quantitative skills, it does demand a strong understanding of trading processes, attention to detail, and the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
