Need Help w/ L/S Pitching to Get on VIC

I'm a rising sophomore in college trying to practice stock pitching to see if I like it and if I'm cut out for it. Trying to test that out to see if I can get a good enough submission for VIC. I've done very rudimentary stock pitches for clubs at school but nothing crazy advanced. Any suggestions on where I should start (sourcing, what to do next, what questions I should be researching for, modeling, etc.) and any tips? Also what are channel checks and should I be doing that? I find myself running out of information to dig on for publics so not sure what I should do to create a quality pitch. Appreciate the advice.
