Yes, you should definitely try to introduce yourself and your situation to people. That's a great resume-builder.

I'm going to be there as well. You of course can network as you earned it, and people will likely reach out to you as well with comments and suggestions.
For those going that were not finalists, the event is still for charity, so remember to act accordingly. But all in attendance will be in a charitable mood and more than willing to help those contributing to the event with their careers.
