Note keeping methodology

Posting this in the HF thread because I think you all have the synthesize a lot more information more rapidly than we do on the PE side of things...curious on different methods people use to take and retain notes.

I've always been a legal pad / handwrite notes person, which has worked fine thus far since most of the stuff is just repetitions, but as we foray into newer technologies (energy transition) I find myself having to on-ramp to more and more things. I still prefer the handwriting of my notes, but obviously can't remember when I last learned about a random topic, so archiving digitally after the fact would be useful.

Is it normal to just take my handwritten notes and jot it all down into a OneNote at the end of the day? How good do some of the handwriting to text technologies work? Looking for efficient ways to get my legal pad into something I can do ctrl+f on later.

Thanks in advance!
