Overpaying analysts
How do PMs balance between overpaying analysts (to the extent they get lazy and complacent after a big year because they have already made $X millions) but not underpaying so they leave? I would imagine that after a huge payday one year an analyst is less likely to stick it out as soon as the fund/team starts underperforming
Honestly, if your overpaid why would you want to leave or get booted. Why would a PM still have the drive to succeed after a good year. It’s the same argument.
