I’ve heard of shops giving unstructured internships during the school year. I was wondering if anyone has gotten one of these and if they had any advice on who to approach for them and how. I am a junior and have already signed a SA position I just want some cool work experience.

I did this when I was in school. I just emailed a bunch of funds near me with a pitch and resume.. this approach has a very low hit rate though. Just reach out and express interest. I assume there are more structured school year/part-time internships now than when I was in school.
