PE to HF

Hey - have been combing through old threads about the transition but would be great to get an updated view on the recruiting motion from PE to HF.

A few wrinkles/questions: 1. Logistics - What role do headhunters play (assume this differs from MM to SM), who are the relevant names, and what’s the typical timeline? For PE, we recruited well in advance of start. Should I reach out closer to anticipated start date for this given the fragmentation? 2. Background - Currently in GE (think BX Growth, TPG Growth, etc), will this affect opportunity set? I started at an MBB before making it to the buyside. Will this have an impact on odds? Would I be more attractive to a Tiger cub than a MM?

Thank you!
