Pricing and Valuation vs. Quant/Trader?
I just received a pretty decent offer at a major HF for a vlauation role. My concern is that I will be considered back office for the rest of my career if I accept this position. Is pricing and valuation considered back office? Will this be a bad career move and should I hold out for other offers. What's the likelihood of moving from this role to a trading role down the line? I appreaciate any help.
equity research does lot of valuations...
But this role is simply to double check the pricing of the traders, making sure there were no gross mispricings of assets. Sounds like more of a supportive role.
