Questioning Management

I'm very curious as to how everyone approaches Q&As with management at corporate events. Do you have a well thought out framework that you tailor to each company or do you tend to build out questions on the fly? I'm also wondering if anyone has good recommendations on books they have read that help the qualitative side?
