Questions to ask in a 15 minute informational interview before formal interviews
I am interviewing at a HF on Monday after next and chatting with someone from the team this week who offered 15 minutes to discuss. What do you think are the best questions to sus out culture, whether there is actually good mentorship, etc.? What are the most important things to ask if you had 15 minutes that you wanted to know before going into the interview process?
I remember interviewing recently with a well known SM that sounded great on paper but the guys were total dicks so I declined. Had a different one where the guys were amazing but I didn't realize how technical in the weeds they were so I got smoked. Both I could have better prepared for had I asked the right questions.
Maybe ask the questions about his job that you still have even after googled them
Don't try to impress him with very niche/bright questions, unfortunately it's not gonna happen
It's a positive signal that a person is OK to introduce you to his boss though
