Is it possible to go straight to a hedge fund after college or do you have to do investment banking work or other experience first.

Are you sure? I read that hedge fund managers don't have the time or resources to train someone from the bottom up. They also have many people from investment banking that want to transition into a hedge fund, which means more competition from more experienced people.
