Received HF offer; want to leave current role early - advice?

I'm currently at a BB in NYC but have an offer with an HF that starts in the summer. There's nothing in the offer letter / contract that says I have to stay in my current role until then (unlike for PE). For personal reasons, I want to resign early. How would you recommend bringing this up to the HF to check whether they're okay with it?
