Relationship dating status disclosure

Question, has anyone encountered a situation where a PM is dating/married to their sales person/broker and both party did not disclose. Who has more to lose?

Are there conflicts of interests since the PM technically allocates their fund's budget for sales comms to various brokers - naturally more likely to give higher ratings and comms to their own partner since it is mutually beneficial for the sales guy to earn more?

Should they disclose and do people even care? How easy is that found out generally by the fund and will there be repercussions?
