Schonfeld
Anyone has any idea how Schonfeld has been doing recently? Or anything about culture or hours? Can't seem find too much information about them here or elsewhere. Appreciate if anyone is able to share any insights they may have. Thanks.

They are a pod shop so I would imagine culture varies from team to team, nonetheless would like to learn more about them as well
Hey, sorry am new on this forum, what does "pod" mean ?
form the internets...
pods - teams of traders that have almost complete autonomy to make money. But they are given stringent parameters to manage the risk of their portfolios
Historically a very quant-y shop. They grew their fundamental equities business over the years, and I think they doubled its size when they absorbed Folger Hill a few years ago.
Do you know how their non-quant operations have been performing and if they are a decent shop to join for that side of their business? Thanks in advance for your insights.
also interested.. anyone have anything else on Schonfeld?
They do a lot of quant analysis. That is my understanding.
Wanted to bump this to see if there are any other opinions out there on their fundamental equities business. Obviously it depends on the pod, but any anecdotal insights would be helpful.
Quant side is very good. I don't know about fundamental equties, but I've heard they shrunk relative to the quant pods.
Quant has a large draw down this year? and a lot of turnover seems to be always with them/
I don't know about this year. Last I spoke with Schonfeld was 2019.
Not a good year for them based on some reports I came across. Flat as of end September. Got dragged down by their quant pods this year.
Does anyone know if they charge a pass through fee structure? Don’t think they do if I remember correctly
They have a distressed/credit strategy as well no? If Schonfeld = PSAM?
Not the same fund, they do a lot of quant stuff
Different funds, easy to get confused though. PSAM is mostly event driven, merger arb, special sits; Schonfeld is a multi-manager (like MLP, Citadel, P72, Baly).
