Seeking Advice for Optimizing My WFH Setup for Hedge Fund Role
Hello everyone,
I'm transitioning to a remote position at a hedge fund and am in the process of refining my home office to ensure maximum productivity and comfort. My current setup includes:
- Two Dell 24-inch monitors
- Logitech webcam
- Yeti microphone
- A standing desk
I'm contemplating expanding my setup and have identified a few potential upgrades:
- Monitors: Is adding more monitors beneficial for tasks such as financial analysis and multi-tasking, and if so, what size and brand do you recommend?
- Keyboard and Mouse: I'm considering the Logitech MX Mechanical Wireless Tactile Quiet Keyboard and the Logitech MX Master 3S Wireless Mouse for their reputed efficiency and comfort. Thoughts or alternative suggestions?
- Docking Station: To streamline connectivity, I'm in the market for a docking station. Any recommendations that support multiple displays and peripherals efficiently?
- Additional Recommendations: Given the nature of my work, which involves extensive data analysis and market research, are there any other tools or equipment you would suggest to enhance productivity, comfort, or efficiency? Specific brands and models would be greatly appreciated.
I already benefit from a quality webcam and microphone for communication, as well as a standing desk for ergonomics. My aim is to create a highly functional and comfortable environment conducive to long hours of focused work.
Thank you in advance for your insights and recommendations. I'm eager to learn from your experiences and suggestions to create the best possible work-from-home setup.

Question: I plan to get a new standing desk which one should I get? Also my company is paying for a new laptop which one should I get? Also is there anything else I should get to make my desk setup complete?
At least 4 monitors. 2 up top for LP and 2 work ones below.
Holy nerd
2 24in monitors is way too little screen space to work effectively at home IMO. I like to go with a big 43in monitor and 2 24in monitors put vertically on the side. If you're going through a big spreadsheet or something it's nice to have that big monitor and when you don't need it you can just divide the space into 4-6 sections using software.
