I’ll add my two worthless cents as someone who’s been at a few places. A relationship that started out great could turn sour very quickly due to external/internal reasons. Even if you are in a great situation now, be cognizant of the fact that it can change quickly, and have a plan for when that happens.
they run "your" fund but you wrote an option on them, so are you superior to them in the hierarchy or lower
