Thoughts on Bracebridge Capital?

Do any of you have impressions of Bracebridge Capital? Seems to be a great fund, albeit slightly under the radar.

How would you say an internship opportunity or a fresh graduate opportunity with them compares to that of some of the other firms in the industry. I know the likes of Citadel and DE Shaw may have great training programs as well. But how important would hedge fund reputation vs quality training be at this early stage in my career?

Any insights would be invaluable!

Bracebridge is a legit shop by all means. I do not know about the culture there but let's just say that teaching/learning/kumbaya is not in Citadel or Shaw's respective DNA. Great names and maybe if you get on a good team or with good people it could be a great personal experience that could be nurturing, growing etc.

I cannot speak for Bracebridge's culture, but typically these large Boston shops are, for lack of a better word "nicer" at least from the outside.

TLDR: If you get something at Bracebridge, take it. Everyone will know who they are and you might have a great experience. Once you are in a recognized shop or place and know the basics, jumping to other HFs (or at least getting interviews is far easier). You can always join a palce like Citadel later, when you run money and want to give yourself a shot at making real PnL.

Good Luck

I used to do Asia-Pacific PE (kind of like FoF). Now I do something else but happy to try and answer questions on that stuff.
