Transitioning from Web3 VC to a Hedge Fund

Hi everyone,

I’m currently an investment associate at a Web3-focused VC and looking to transition into a fundamental-driven hedge fund that is expanding into Web3. I believe I have the necessary analytical skills, but I’d love to hear any advice on making this move. If anyone has insights or suggestions, I’d really appreciate it!

I mean, you're just doing more Web3. Don't you more or less have those skills already? Blockchain/crypto isn't going to use any of the typical fundamental analysis skills that would apply to stocks/credit give it's such a nascent space. I think you'll be fine.

hey! Thanks for your reply. Yes 100% it does apply and completely agree that the normal stock analysis doesn't apply at all in this space, but I'm still unsure how to showcase this to hedge funds and show the value that I can bring.

I think the value is just showcasing your knowledge e.g. talk about dynamics in stablecoins or DeFi that you've observed, interesting companies/developments in Web3, etc.
