Update on American competitiveness?

Was wondering if anyone in the HF space could give their current perspective on mid to long term American competitiveness? —-

Guiding questions:

  1. How are you/your firm thinking about it?
  2. What drivers are you focusing on to monitor it?
  3. How is this train of thought affecting investment decisions?
  4. What markets are becoming attractive alternatives for long term investments?

As someone with no professional investing experience yet, it’s hard to sift through all the factors/trends to make any meaningful inference. E.g. - Tech R&D and innovative patents published - Energy independence - On-shoring of manufacturing/supply chains - reserve currency status

—- I provided a lot of questions to give some direction, but would love any and all input on how people see/think about American competitiveness in general and relative to China over the next 3, 5, 10, and 20 year periods.
