Best seat will be a small team that involves directly working with a senior analyst, ideally at a place that gives you investor exposure - ability to directly converse with buyside folks (BB brand always helps, not sure it'll be as relevant for research though as a lot of boutiques have a great rep for quality ER ie: Imperial)... don't suspect you'll see as structured of a recruiting pipeline as banking but in theory if you network on your own you can get interviews, but in terms of headhunters reaching out 1st yr, rule that out.
disagree with head hunters not reaching out to first year. I know a few 1st year EWR analysts that have been head hunted to smaller hedge fund/ start ups....

Can someone help with recruiter contact. I am in ER at a BB and most of the responses i get from recruiters is we don't present sell-side candidates for busyide positions.
