What differentiates a good research analyst/PM?

As a junior research analyst in the industry who is accumulating skills, I want to ask what are the most differentiating, fundamental skills a star analyst/PM have? Given some say top analysts can call right only 55% of the time...

My upfront understanding is 1) Deep understanding about the industry/company; 2. Expertise in market dynamics, l/s interest, sentiment, etc.; 3. For a PM might be different as it may also include portfolio management and even fund raising, etc.

Not to jump fast to the stage where people dream to be a large PM and quickly start their own funds, I just want to gain a sense of what should I have in insight and pay attention to three years down the road.
