What is it like working at a global macro fund in 2020-2022?

There are a lot of resources on this site of global macro hedge funds but most of the day-in-a-life stuff is from 2014 ish.  While there is an AMA from an analyst, I just want to know how the current environment is for these analysts (not talking about jobs but just the general feeling).

Also decided to make this post because everyone shitting on the tech L/S equity funds for some reason...

Yeah, those L/S funds that forgot about the S

I personally think macro funds are very exciting right now. You finally have conditions that require central banks to take action, due to COVID and the response there are large differences across countries (and asset pricing), inflation in the US (and across the world) is a thing (when is that last time you could say that?), and the start of the year brought very interesting equity moves. Also COVID is less of a force moving markets and people are now focused on the impact of all that was done during the last couple years

After years of pretty straightforward policy, the macro world is getting interesting.

Not to derail the thread but how are those macro funds who were bullish on Lira last year?  Must've been destroyed especially those that were leveraged.
