depends on the type of hedge fund.

if they primarily trade futures, then SierraChart is probably the best (in addition to their large off the shelf library, you can write custom C++ studies, and have access to all the tick data)

if trading things like credit, EM, any other esoteric securites, then only BBG has all that data and analytics (tho you will probably need to build custom analytics for anything exotic)

Reuters has a competing product to BBG, and so does money.net but they are not equivalent...BBG has so much more (and they charge 2k/month for it).

if you trade vanilla securities (stocks, FX, etc..) then you don't need all that esoteric stuff and can get what you need for much cheaper from retail platforms.
