What is the most popular software that hedge funds use?
If there are several software programs please post them. I'm assuming that Bloomberg Terminal is #1.

depends on the type of hedge fund.
if they primarily trade futures, then SierraChart is probably the best (in addition to their large off the shelf library, you can write custom C++ studies, and have access to all the tick data)
if trading things like credit, EM, any other esoteric securites, then only BBG has all that data and analytics (tho you will probably need to build custom analytics for anything exotic)
Reuters has a competing product to BBG, and so does money.net but they are not equivalent...BBG has so much more (and they charge 2k/month for it).
if you trade vanilla securities (stocks, FX, etc..) then you don't need all that esoteric stuff and can get what you need for much cheaper from retail platforms.
Unique proprietary model = excel spreadsheet
With some pulls from Bloomberg. Even quite a few “quant” shops or firms that use “systematic mathematical models” work largely out of excel. The next most popular software would be SQL, python or C++.
I think it's google sheets? That way is stores online so they don't have to use the UBS stocks
Is kdb/kx still pivotal in quant HF? they are introducing it in our bank
kdb is useful for computations on large datasets...most large banks run it somewhere
