What would be better work exp, Healthcare IB or phd in related science? (For biotech HF)

What would be better work exp, Healthcare IB or phd in related science? (For biotech HF) Just curious as to what y'all think would be weighted better. My guess is having both would do well or maybe healthcare IB but I could be wrong.

Probably PhD - much more marketable background for funds so most of them ding people without an MD or PhD. And this is coming from a person w a life sciences undergrad > biotech IB > biotech HF background.

With that said, I think doing a PhD that takes a minimum of 6 years would be difficult knowing that a hedge fund - and not lab work is your end game.
