What's it like working in Credit/Fixed Income Hedge Fund/ Investment Management and what do you in your role?

I recently had a internship at a small wealth management which was a great experience working in equities, but I've become intrigued in credit investing. This is due impart to a Fixed Income class I took,a professor I've mine telling me "the stock market can disappear and we would be fine, the bond market disappearing would be a disaster" and listening to The Capital Allocators Podcast that featured  Josh Friedman-Canyon Partners and Greg Lippmann - LibreMax was also in part. But I wanted to ask for professional insight on working at these types of firms (Canyon Partners, LLC,LibreMax Capital,Beachpoint Capital Management, 400 Capital Management,CIFC Asset Management) as I plan on attempting to acquire a internship at these types of firms?
