which funds are interviewing?
Which of the big shops are currently hiring and are they doing immediate starts or 2012 to let guys finish programs / synch up with PE alternative?

I've only encountered 2012 starts (at least when it comes to PE, HF is a whole different story).

no I know what pe is doing, I'm asking about large hedge funds. curious which ones are in the market and whether they're hiring a year+ ahead (to synch up with pe) or immediate start.
some of the bigger ones hired around the same time as pe shops (i can confirm paulson and a couple other "name" shops did). Hedge funds affiliated with big pe shops and banks also recruited in line with the megafunds. In general its much more unstructured though.
