Hmm my signature got cut off from that post. Someone post and explain if tier 2 analyst experience is still well regarded by admission for a b-school or whatever. It's a dawg eat dawg world.

If you are looking to secure admission into the top-5 b-schools, 1st tier/2nd tier doesn't really matter that much, rather what you do at those firms and what you've achieved. When I was at HBS last year, in my MBA class, we had, of course, guys from GS, MS, CS (interestingly NONE from ML), but also HSBC, Dresdner, ABN etc...
