Everyone talks about getting into BB firms and only doing IBanking there. How about 2nd Tier Firms are they worth getting experience at if you cannot get into BB firm? Does anyone have a list of these firms and how hard it is to get a job at one?

Hmm my signature got cut off from that post. Someone post and explain if tier 2 analyst experience is still well regarded by admission for a b-school or whatever. It's a dawg eat dawg world.
If you are looking to secure admission into the top-5 b-schools, 1st tier/2nd tier doesn't really matter that much, rather what you do at those firms and what you've achieved. When I was at HBS last year, in my MBA class, we had, of course, guys from GS, MS, CS (interestingly NONE from ML), but also HSBC, Dresdner, ABN etc...
Why is ML getting hated on these days? What about ML LA?
