3rd Year Analyst Abroad?

I work at a BB (nyc) where spending your third year as an analyst in an international office is pretty common (usually London but there are some others). Its something that interests me so I'm just wondering if anyone has done it/knows of someone that has? How was the experience? Do you get paid in dollars and the same amount you did in the US? (if not going to London would be an L)

Guessing HSBC... talked to a couple people who have made the transition abroad a permanent one. Can’t speak for the culture on my end but have been told transition is seamless and enjoyable at that. Have also been told to take advantage of the networking opportunities during this time. Often times these opportunities have resulted in FT laterals.
