I found mine through a whatsapp group made off of students applying to SA gigs. I'd reach out to the people you know studying at London unis and ask them to ask their friends etc

A bit off-topic but how hot do the tube and buses get during summer? Is it that bad? I'll also be having my SA in London next summer and not sure whether to get an accomodation that is close to the office vs a cheaper one a bit far away but having to spend more time in the tube/bus. I just wanna make sure I don't arrive at the office with sweat all over my shirt

The best advice I got when I was interning is that you’re ultimately there to get a return offer. If that means living close to work to get more sleep, do it. I lived a 10/15 min walk away from work during my internship and trust me, your body will appreciate the extra hour of sleep each day.

You can live in an area you want when you become a full-timer.

I had to take a 20/25 min bus ride to the office. My bus wasnt packed at all, but the problem was that it was sometimes canceled for no reason. It happened to me like 4/5 times over the summer. Bus was hot but it was very bearable and I never arrived sweaty. I felt like the tub was much warmer imo.

Another thing, most of my peers were living 20/30min away from the office so it's very doable. If you're good, people don't care if you arrive after 9.30 (after a few weeks ofc).I guess it's team dependent like always but my bank was pretty chill about it

Regarding the uni halls question - are these in high demand over the summer?

My initial thought would be no, but maybe I’m wrong. Just wondering how early will I have to start looking.

Also, what is the price range. Something between £150-£250/week for a simple single room?

You're never finding anything at 150/week for a short term stay unless you want to live in Zone 200. Budget 900-1200+ a month (although I have a feeling rental market might calm down soon).

Uni halls in good locations are in very high demand. There are internationals that don't go home, summer schools, tons of interns (not just banks) + not all uni halls open for the summer.

Most people I know who did an SA 2022 who weren't from/lived in London would rent around Bethnal Green
