advice on backing out on accepted SA offer
Hi fellow Chimps,
Basically last spring I got really into the IB recruiting process thinking it was for me and ended up accepting an offer at a middle market bank for 2022.
After talking with many friends who worked as SA's in 2021 and hating my job as an analyst at a PE firm last summer as well as having other options for this summer I really have absolutely zero interest in working IB.
Was wondering what advice you chimps have as far as the best way to navigate this situation as I really don't want to damage the relationship with the bank if possible.
Why do you care about the relationship if you have no interest what so ever in IB anymore?
If you back out after accepting, you can pretty much assume that relationship is severed, unless some miraculous thing changes through a referral. If you got referred for this SA, its really making that person look bad, too.
