Applying for better internships whilst currently in an internship
I'm currently interning in ECM at a tier 2 BB (so no exit ops at all), was looking at applying to tier 1's and trying to move into M&A (LT goal is PE), but couldn't decide if I should risk FT recruiting or play it safer because I'm in ECM and apply for SA's again.
Does anyone have any advice regarding applying to secondary IB summer internships? Any risk of the current bank finding out?
Can you provide a little more context? Are you a sophomore or junior? Is your current internship a standard SA position with conversion into FT? What's the conversion rate to FT? Are you saying you would start applying to other internships and leave your current one?
A bit more color would be helpful in assessing your situation.

Interesting. Do you like the work / people and experience thus far?
A couple things I would consider: 1) Certainty around an offer is a premium right now in the wake of COVID-19 - banks are delaying or reducing hiring and in some cases may be laying off people 2) Fit within a group / having a valuable experience is very important (even if not a top BB name)
Can I ask you what kind of activities do you have to do interning for ECM? I am currently applying for a internship in ECM at a MM bank too. It would be great to get an insight
