Applying to London SA Positions as a US Citizen/Student?
How feasible is it to get a SA offer at one of the BBs at a London office? For personal reasons, I would like to intern in London to be closer to family (potentially staying there after graduating). I go to a non/semi-target (top 20 liberal arts college), have a low gpa (below 3.2) and am a us citizen so I don't know if it is at all likely to have a chance in the recruiting process. I've attended many high-potential candidate/diversity events at multiple financial institutions and feel confident that I would be able to interview and receive an offer at a New York office given strong contacts. I have interviews already set up for two other BBs in the next coming weeks (NYC)? I'm specifically interested in IB and S&T. I plan on applying to the rest soon enough. For a lot of the online applications I can apply up to 3 divisions/locations and so I am debating whether or not to add a london office as my third choice. Would I be better off applying within the US? Any thoughts?
It's harder than you might think. Applying for IBD SA positions last year, I consistently got interviews at BBs in their NY offices and consistently got ignored by those same BBs' London offices. From my point of view, seems like London offices are extremely unwilling to look beyond the UK absent some pretty substantial personal connections (and the challenges of making it to assessment centers and so on are pretty sizable on their own). That said, I'd still put London among my three location preferences -- after NY (and maybe SF), is there anywhere else in the US that seems like an appealing option to you?

Is it harder for Americans to get internships in London than in the US? Or do they pretty much only hire from target schools if they decide to hire an american?
This is like the 237th thread covering this question.
Yes, it is more difficult smaller firms have visa issues. BB is similar but there is a focus on assessment centers, numerical and psychometric tests.
