Are internship bonuses for housing?
I got an internship offer for this summer that is supposed to pay me a pro-rated salary and give me a housing stipend. In my offer letter, they mentioned my pro-rated salary and a "signing bonus." There was no mention of a housing stipend in the contract. The signing bonus is a couple thousand dollars and there's absolutely no way that it will cover three months of rent in NYC. For other interns, is your signing bonus usually your housing stipend?
Yes, your signing bonus is usually your housing stipend. It should cover about half of your housing cost.
