Background check for Summer internship (London)

Hey. I’ve secured a summer internship at EB in London. I’m currently in the process of background check.

Employer is requiring me to give the dates for employment and higher education. My question is: Do they just check the dates and whether I was actually there or do they collect additional information such as performance and reasons for leaving? I had a misunderstanding with one of my previous employers which forced me to leave the company, but I wouldn’t want that to become an issue or an impediment for my summer internship, certainly wouldn’t want it to be revoked.

The same goes for higher education, do they just check if you are studying or did study at specific institution or do they collect data on your performance/GPA, etc. No problem with GPA with it isn’t stellar (certainly isn’t 4.0/4.0).

Basically, do I have reasons for concern here? Thanks!
