Background checks

Hello,

I am currently doing a background check as part of my onboarding process with a large investment bank (BB) in the UK. On my resume I put just the name of company A but I was an external employee. I was a contractor working for company A but I contracted to them through a company B.

Can the investment bank who I have received the offer from rescind the offer from omitting that?

Thanks! Regards,

You’ll be fine. It is always good to disclose it but if they do in fact call and can’t find a record, they’ll contact you and ask you if you worked directly with the company or through somebody else.

Shouldn’t be much of a problem. Also, background check forms generally ask this type of info.

Like another user said, bg checks for SA tend to be lax. I interned in the US but I know for a fact that they didn’t verify my past internships (spoke with a previous manager of a very small, unknown company that I interned at and he was never contacted).
