Barclays Cognitive Ability Assessment - Intern Application
Hey everyone. Just got a greenlight to do the assessment the Expert Summer Intern Program for '23 and had to do the cognitive assessment.
My question more or less is - am I expected to finish all 24 questions in 36 minutes? I think I only answered 14 or 15 then I ran out of time - some of those questions took up a few minutes at a time. Was wondering if an applicant is reasonably expected to finish all the questions in time or I should just throw in the towel and "reasonably" adjust my expectations. For what it's worth, I believe I did quite well on the questions I was able to answer. The pattern stuff was easy and the "priority scheduling problems" I was able to figure out but were very time consuming.
Any other insights or applicants please let me know how it played out. Appreciate the feedback
*Edit: 2 hours after doing the whole thing I got an automated invitation for a video interview - not sure if they invite everyone to do it after the initial assessment or there's some additional screening - though all feedback is helpful. Would love to hear from someone else who applied
That sounds about right, did the same thing and got the video interview right away.
If you don't mind how many questions did you end up knocking out? Cognitive Assessment wasn't hard per say - but wasn't even close to finishing it. They didn't provide any sort of score or metric for how I did, either.
Hit 19 and got closed out of the time allotted, it’s pretty much impossible to get all of them I’d say.
I did absolute dog shit and ended up getting a first round interview.
I ended up having the same problem with not finishing all of the questions. Can any of you follow up on if you got an offer/accepted unto further rounds? I got the notification for the video assessment, but did any of you guys get further than that?
Sorry, just seeing this. They basically said (this was months ago) that they'll reach out with next steps. However, they never got back to me. This was for their M&A division, and if I remember correctly Barclays M&A in the US took a big hit.
